Unique not only in its characteristics, but also in its configuration, the Vanguard VEO HD2 10x42 WP destroys stereotypes about the monocular as an auxiliary optical device for secondary tasks. The quality of the low-dispersion ED optics is such that you can use the Vanguard VEO HD2 10x42 WP monocular as a lens for smartphones and get high-resolution images of distant objects with 10x optical magnification. Especially for these tasks, the monocular is equipped with a smartphone adapter, a smartphone camera remote control with a Bluetooth interface, and the possibility of mounting the monocular on a tripod is also provided.

The Vanguard company was the first to introduce monoculars to the market in a lightweight and ultra-durable composite carbon body, protected by a premium rubber coating of Mitsubishi Rubber Armor (similar to what is used to finish the interior details of Mitsubishi sports cars).

Special attention is paid to the optics, starting from the materials and geometry of the lenses, and ending with special coatings. The multi-component lens is made of ED-glass from the Japanese manufacturer HOYA , and the glasses are glued together with the best Norland adhesives today, which are characterized by maximum transparency and uniformity. The geometry of the lenses is selected in such a way as to provide both a large field of view and a minimum focusing distance, and to get rid of optical distortions. The lens and eyepiece have a full multi-layer broadband illuminative coating. The BAK4 prism is, as it should be, equipped with a phase-correcting coating.

In addition to waterproofness and reliable protection against shocks, Vanguard VEO HD2 10x42 WP is protected from the formation of internal condensation, as well as from the appearance of scratches on the optics and the accumulation of water, oils and dirt on the surface of the lenses. All these features allow you to use the monocular not only for bird watching and landscape photography, but also for hunting. This is an all-weather multifunctional monocular that will definitely not let you down in the most extreme conditions.

HOYA ED Glass . The lenses of this monocular use low-dispersion ED Japanese-made HOYA glasses. The HOYA company has been known as a manufacturer of optical glasses of exceptional quality for more than 70 years. The light refraction coefficient of low-dispersion HOYA glasses is extremely small and does not depend on the wavelength of light. All waves of the light spectrum are refracted at the same angle, thanks to which minimal light scattering is achieved and it is possible to get rid of chromatic aberration (color distortion).

Advanced MultiGuard® Coatings . Seven layers of the most technologically advanced broadband illuminant coating are applied to each optical surface. The coating ensures a uniformly high level of light transmission of the optical system and unsurpassed natural color reproduction in almost the entire visible range (from 320 Nm to 680 Nm). In addition, a super-strong hydrophobic membrane is applied to the outer surface of the lens and eyepiece, which protects against scratches, prevents the accumulation of water on the lenses and oil contamination.

BAK4 Prism . Significant light losses in a rotating prism system occur regardless of its design. The use of optical glass BAK4 (barite crown) with a higher refractive index allows you to minimize light loss, and to a large extent avoid vignetting (darkening of the image due to the cutting of the light beam on the periphery of the eyepiece lenses).

P2 Phase Correction. The application of a multi-layer phase-correcting prism coating is today the standard for high-quality binoculars with a rotating Roof prism design. When passing through such a prism system, light is reflected from the opposite sides of the prism, polarized, and there is a shift of half the phase of the light wave, which entails a loss of contrast. The thinnest phase-correcting coating, applied to one of the surfaces of the prism, combines the phases, providing high resolution and contrast of the image.

Waterproof & fogproof. This monocular has a protection class against moisture penetration IPX7, and is also protected against the formation of internal condensate. The case is sealed with a rubber sealing O-ring, which allows the monocular to stay under water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter without letting moisture inside. From the internal volume of the case, the air and water vapor contained in it are displaced by nitrogen N2, which does not form condensate on the internal surfaces of the optics at a sharp temperature drop.

Large field of view . Convenience, efficiency and exciting impressions of observing with a monocular largely depend on the field of view (angle of view) of the optical device. The larger the field of view (the wider the angle of view), the more space comes into view. The field of view of this monocular is significantly above the average level of indicators of similar models and refers this monocular to premium-class optical devices.

Outstanding near focus. Most users use monoculars only to observe distant objects. But not everyone knows that the best models of monoculars provide significant opportunities for macro observations. The minimum focusing distance (focusing limit) of this model is only 2 meters, which allows you to view flowers and insects in their real habitat. Monoculars with a minimum focusing limit of up to 2.5 meters are premium optical devices.

Carbon Fiber Composite Body. The Vanguard company became the first manufacturer to use composite carbon fiber in serial production of optical devices. The material PA66 + 40CF consists of 40% of the thinnest fibers (up to 7 μm) of reinforcing carbon fiber and 60% of the binder polyamide PA66, which is one of the strongest and most stable polymers used in composite materials. According to laboratory studies, composite carbon fiber PA66 + 40CF at the same density is 271% stronger than polycarbonate (a material traditionally used for the production of optical instrument housings), and is also 2 times lighter and 20% stronger than aluminum.

2 Stage Eyecups. Correctly designed eyeglass frames not only increase comfort during long-term observations, but, first of all, allow users with different anatomical structures of the eyes, as well as users wearing glasses, to use the monocular with equal ease. This monocular uses a rather soft retractable frame of the Twist-Up type eyepiece, which has 2 intermediate levels of fixation.

Tripod mountable. Despite the fact that in most cases observations are carried out with a monocular in hand, there are situations when installation on a tripod is simply necessary. High magnifications, observation for a long time, or shooting on a smartphone camera with a monocular require the stability of the optical device. This model has a thread for attaching a tripod adapter, located in the lower part of the case.
