Description

Being more compact and lighter than similar models of competitors, the Opticron Explorer WA ED-R 10x42 WP monocular also has outstanding optical characteristics. The wide-angle eyepiece provides a large field of view at the level of the best optics, and the minimum focusing distance starts from 1.8 meters, which allows you to observe objects that are literally under your feet.

Low-dispersion ED-glass with a proprietary broadband illuminating coating in R-type red tones guarantees the brightness of the image, accurate color rendering in the entire visible spectrum and almost complete absence of color distortions. As befits premium-class optics, the rotating prism is made of BAK4 optical glass and has a phase-correcting and dielectric reflective surface coating.

The Oasis-C+ Prism Coating is a proprietary 64-layer coating applied to the reflective surface of each Roof Prism. Compared to cheaper silver coating (Ag coating) or budget aluminum coating (Al coating), it provides more than 99% light reflection from the surface in a wider spectrum, which provides a noticeable increase in brightness and clarity. In turn, the phase-correcting coating combines the phases of all light waves passing through the prisms, and prevents blurring of the image.

The assembly of the Explorer WA ED-R 10x42 WP monocular, as is customary for all Opticron optical devices, is carried out at a high level, ensuring smooth movement of the focuser and complete absence of backlash. The monocular is sealed according to the IPX7 class, which allows you to stay under water at a depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes without any damage to the optics, and the inside of the device is filled with inert nitrogen, which eliminates internal fogging and accumulation of condensate in the event of a sudden change in temperature.

Lens and eyepiece covers are made of soft rubber and fit tightly, additionally the lens cover is attached to the body with a rubber strap, which prevents its loss and allows you to use the monocular quickly and efficiently. The soft neck strap is made of neoprene - a dense and soft hypoallergenic material that does not absorb moisture and is wear-resistant.
