Varicose veins (simplified varicose veins) is a common pathological process, damage to veins (vessels that carry blood to the heart), which is characterized by an increase in the diameter of the lumen, thinning of "knots" - aneurysm-like local expansions.

In a narrow sense, the term "varicose veins" can mean an independent disease (varicose veins of the lower extremities) that occurs in combination with other vein diseases or is their consequence.

A progressive course, changes in subcutaneous veins, skin, muscles and bones are often observed. Varicose veins of the lower extremities are visually characterized by the presence of dilated veins on the foot, leg, and thigh. This is a disease in which the wall of the subcutaneous veins loses elasticity. As a result, the vessels are stretched, nodular expansions appear in some areas, which gave the name to this disease (Varix means "knot" in Latin).

With the help of medical knitwear, an increase in the speed of venous blood flow is achieved, venous stasis, edema is eliminated, and blood clots are prevented.
